You realize that you are not alone.
We are a few years out from our last OT & Speech therapy sessions with Excel Rehabilitation, but I still use their tips and techniques on a daily basis. I cannot say enough good things about Rusty and all of her staff! Just walking through the doors each week brought a sense of peace and comfort. It felt so good to be understood… and to be shown practical ways to help my son work through issues that he didn’t know how to communicate. The therapists treat the whole child and the family too! If you are willing to learn, and practice at home, it will truly change your lives. Now, when my 11 year old is bouncing off the walls and jittery with energy, I know it’s time for a “scavenger hunt”. He’s getting the self-regulation and proprioceptive input that he needs while he’s crawling around on the floor looking for my lost earring that “somehow” got under the bed. When he’s having a no-good/terrible/everything is just bad kind-of. day, I know it’s time for us to make a blanket fort with lots of pillows in a tight and dark space where we can use flashlights to make silly shadow puppets until finally we’re just sitting there all squished together and I tell him about some of my bad days so that he’ll open up about his. Usually, once he feels heard and had some calming snuggle time, it’s easier for him to move on and laugh some things away. Just don’t call it “snuggle time” once they become pre-teens… it’s not cool anymore! There’s so much more than this that you can discover about your child with the therapists at Excel Rehab. You realize that you are not alone and that your child is capable of amazing things!

Incredibly caring and knowledgeable!
“In June 2022, my infant daughter was not able to turn her head from side to side. I mentioned it to our pediatrician at a check-up, and he highly recommended Rusty at Excel Rehab. I was nervous and worried. I had four babies, but I’d never experienced any developmental delays with them. At the initial consultation at Excel, Rusty explained torticollis to me. She patiently explained why my baby couldn’t move properly, and she outlined future developmental problems she would face if we didn’t treat her now. Then she set out a detailed and personalized plan for my infant, carefully crafted to put both me and my daughter at ease. To literally place your baby into someone else’s hands for treatment can be a difficult task. But Rusty displays such care and knowledge, I never once doubted her incredible capabilities. She treated my daughter twice a week for 7 months, to amazing results. When my daughter “graduated” from Excel Rehab, she was hitting all of her developmental milestones. Rusty was brilliant with adapting treatment to an infant and educating me along the way. I would recommend Excel Rehab to anyone whose child needs occupational or speech therapy. The staff is incredibly caring and knowledgeable. They are precious to my family!”
