Early intervention is best! If you have any concerns about your child’s development, don’t brush them aside. The best way to put your concerns to rest is to get your child evaluated to determine is services are needed as soon as possible.
Our occupational therapists are experts in the areas of development, motor skills, coordination, self-help, emotional regulation, engagement, sensory processing, feeding, and many other areas.
Our speech-language pathologists are experts in the developmental areas of communication (expressive and receptive language), apraxia, stuttering, voice concerns, and oral-motor skills related to speaking and feeding, among other areas.
Yes! Our occupational therapists have extensive knowledge and experience in addressing the underlying causes of many “problem behaviors”. Our team is not only capable of addressing “behaviors”, but we invest in teaching/training caregivers on the root causes of the behaviors and what the behavior is communicating.
We collaborate with caregivers to enable you to interact more compassionately and intentionally with your child. We are an essential component of your child’s team and will go above and beyond to train and educate other members of your child’s team in order to set your child up for success across all settings.
It is probable that either OT, ST or a combination of the two can be a difference-maker in your child’s academic success. For example, we serve children who have difficulty with handwriting, copying from the board, reading, attending to task, problem-solving, following directions and much more.
Yes! Contrary to many other pediatric therapy clinics, we offer feeding services that are not “protocol-specific”. Rather we use a combination of approaches to tailor a plan specifically for your child in consideration of his/her unique needs and challenges. Our speech and occupational therapists work collaboratively to best serve your child. This can look different for each child because every child is unique.
This is every parent’s first question. However, it is a tricky one to answer accurately because every child has a unique set of circumstances and variables that must be considered.
It is always our goal to close the developmental gap at a rate that is faster than aging but as your child makes progress, he/she is also aging which means the developmental expectations are continuing to expand as well.
We take great pride in our developmentally sound approach to therapy which aims to fill the holes in your child’s developmental process. The reason we spend so much time acquiring and mastering those underlying foundational skills often missed earlier in life is to allow the child to build on a solid foundation and begin acquiring skills naturally, rather than having to continue to be “taught” skill after skill.
